Outdoors for immigrants
Immigrants never had cooling or heating. So this meant winters were cold and summers were hot. For winter there was no cure they would just have to suffer. But in the summer they would have to get away from this blistering heat another way. They would try to get outside. This resulted in chaos in the streets. So immigrants would try to get outside other ways. A good way children would stay cool was they would play on their tenements fire escape. Although this was dangerous, children would take the risk. Adults however would revert to the rooftops. This was a good way to relax and to stay cool. But on a nice day immigrants would try to get outside and play some baseball with friends. This was one of the most preferred sports to play. So immigrant children would try to fit in so they would learn how to play too.
